My Puppy

I am really thankful for my puppy even though I'd like to give him away sometimes :-)
He is the first pet I've ever had besides fish.
This summer for the 24th of July I traveled up to Montana to visit my best friend and to just get out of Utah for awhile. On the way home Butch was sitting on my lap and he started licking his paw. At first I didn't think anything of it but after awhile he was still licking it so I grabbed his paw to look at it to see what he was doing and it was covered in blood. I was about 2 hours from home at this point and I didn't know what to do. I have never had an animal before and I have never had one that has been injured so I called Lise' and I was frantic I have no idea how I made it home. My poor puppy was injured and I didn't know how it happened or what to do.
When I made it home I cleaned it and cut all his fur away so I could see just a little puncture wound on the top of his paw between his toes. I cleaned it out best I could and I just held him not knowing what else to do.
That is when I started to love my puppy and I tell you they wiggle their way into your heart. I don't know what I would do without him. He is such a character and when I come home he is so excited to see me! It really does brighten my day. I can see how pets become part of the family because they show you an amazing amount of unconditional love and all they want back it you.
I am my puppy's person and he knows it. When I leave him with my mom she says that he cries at the door when I leave. I left him there for a week when I went on a trip and when I can to get him. He would not leave my side the whole day he missed me so much. I don't know what I would do without he has helped me thru so hard times and he is helping me thru one right now.

To prove just how much of a charater he is the first time there was snow actually on the ground Butch had no idea what to do. When I opened the door to let him out he just stared at it and tried to smell it. I finally had to pick him up and toss him into the snow to let him go outside. He loved it! His nose did not leave the snow and he did not want to come it! When I finally got him back inside he loved the fact that I had to towel him off and he thought it was a game and the whole week everytime he would go outside he would wait after he came in to play with the towel as I was trying to dry him off. It was hilarious and no matter how bad of a mood I am in he always makes me smile.
